2018 Sanctuary Fund
This February you can make a difference for our neighbor in Sanctuary, Lucio Perez. He is now going on 100+ days living in Amherst’s First Congregational Church while his case awaits judicial review. During this time, Lucio’s family of his wife, Dora, and their four children, continue to make their home in Springfield without their husband, dad, and income-earner.
For the month of February, we here at First Churches aim to raise $1,200, the amount the Perez family lacks while Lucio remains in Sanctuary and, therefore, is unable to work. We’re doing this through many different paths which means you have many different opportunities to give!
Join us in:
— Giving during the special collection Sunday, Feb 11
— Buying a handcrafted (by First Churches’ own young people) birdseed wreath
— Buying a handcrafted (by First Churches’ own Common Ground participants) soup-to-go
— Giving at the Sanctuary donation table during coffee hour during any Sunday in February
We’re already up to $200 and, with your help, hope to meet, if not exceed, $1,200 to help the Perez family make it through another month without Lucio home.
