The Christmas season is the most wonderful time of the year for everyone… unless it’s not. In the midst of all the celebration and preparation, there are some of us who long for a place where we can acknowledge all that isn’t merry and bright in our lives and in our world.
On December 18th, at our next Common Ground, we will gather to acknowledge the darkness and perhaps hear, in a clearer way, God’s promise that a light shines in the darkness and the darkness will not overcome it.
Over a dinner of black bean and sweet potato chili, we will pray, sing, and light candles of hope. Wherever this Christmas finds you, I hope you will join us.
