Join us at the Grow Food Northampton Garden (140 Meadow St. Florence) as we bless the fields and petition heaven for a good growing season.

Rogation Day is an ancient Christian holiday during which lay folks and clergy walk throughout the parish fields to petition God to bless land and seeds.  The word “Rogation: comes from the Latin, “rogare,” meaning “to ask.” We’ll gather at our Common Ground garden and ask God’s blessing on all that grows there and beyond. And then, in keeping with the best part of this ancient tradition, we’ll enjoy cheese scones and local beer.
