The sexton will be responsible for cleaning, light maintenance duties, minor repairs to the building and grounds and other tasks such as setting up and moving of furniture, etc. as designated and assigned. This is an essential service to the church in that it provides a clean, comfortable, safe environment to promote the mission of the church. The Sexton is also responsible for being onsite during certain special events such as weddings and large rentals. The sexton will report to and be supervised by the pastor, and will receive daily direction and scheduling information from the Church Administrator. Must coordinate with other staff and members to determine set up and other needs.

First Churches is embarking on a new adventure! Because we are a growing church family, we found that the whole church experience could be enhanced for everyone if we had someone working with Pastor Sarah to hold the many “balls in the air” and help coordinate our inward and outward ministries, with a particular focus on our interpersonal relationships and events. The Church Community Coordinator position was formulated and approved at the Annual Meeting in late June and the Search Team, in coordination with the Personnel Team, is currently recruiting for this part-time position.
